is it a sin if a person Forgets the Quran after memorization?
Forgetting the Holy Quran after memorizing is a grave sin, There are harsh words in Hadith Sharif about such a person, so it is in the narration of Abu Dawud:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: No man recite the Quran, then forgets it, but will meet Allah on the Day of judgment in a maimed condition (or empty-hand, or with no excuse). Ref: Abu Dawood: Hadith: 1474
Thus, a person who, due to his negligence, laziness and carelessness, forget the Holy Quran so much that he cannot read it at all even by looking, is include in these Harsh words.
