اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ الْمَوْلِجِ وَخَيْرَ الْمَخْرَجِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَلَجْنَا وَبِسْمِ اللَّهِ خَرَجْنَا وَعَلَى اللَّهِ رَبِّنَا تَوَكَّلْنَا

Transliteration: Allahumma inni As’aluka Khairal Maolaji Wa Khairal Makhraji, Bismillahi Walajna Wa Bismillahi Kharajna, Wa’alal’lahi Rabbina Tawakkalna.

English Translation: O Allah! I ask Thee for good both when entering and when going out; in the name of Allah we have entered, and in the name of Allah we have gone out, and in Allah our Lord do we trust.

What are the manners and etiquette After Entering Home?

Manners and Etiquette to follow after entering the Home:

  1. Begin with the Right Foot.
  2. Recite the Dua: Upon entering, recite the dua: “بِسْمِ اللهِ وَلَجْنَا، وَبِسْمِ اللهِ خَرَجْنَا، وَعَلَى رَبِّنَا تَوَكَّلْنَا”
  3. Greet with Salam: Upon entering, greet your family with “Assalamu Alaikum.” This simple act strengthens the bonds of love and unity within your household.
  4. Express Gratitude: Entering your home should remind you of the blessings and comfort it provides. Express gratitude to Allah for the roof over your head and the warmth of your family’s presence.

What should you say when you enter your house?

Abu Malik Al-Ashari (May Allah be pleased with him) said :

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ “‏ إِذَا وَلَجَ الرَّجُلُ فِي بَيْتِهِ فَلْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ الْمَوْلِجِ وَخَيْرَ الْمَخْرَجِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَلَجْنَا وَبِسْمِ اللَّهِ خَرَجْنَا وَعَلَى اللَّهِ رَبِّنَا تَوَكَّلْنَا ثُمَّ لْيُسَلِّمْ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ ‏”‏ ‏.‏

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: When a man goes into his house, he should say: “O Allah! I ask Thee for good both when entering and when going out; in the name of Allah we have entered, and in the name of Allah we have gone out, and in Allah our Lord do we trust.” He should then greet his family.
