Dua After Adhan, Explanation
What is the meaning of Al-Dawatit Tammah?
الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ – Al-Dawaw al-Taamah (The perfect call): Dawah mean calling. Tammah mean perfect/complete. Al-Dawaw al-Taamah refer to the Adhan. So, Adhan is a Complete Dawah, because it includes the majesty of Allah, and onnes for which He created the creation. The Adhan also contains the testimony of Muhammad’s ﷺ prophethood.
So, without these two testimonies (The testimony that God is one, along with the testimony that Muhammad ﷺ is the messenger of Allah. He ﷺ conveyed the message of Allah, fulfilled the trust and admonished the nation) our Islam is not complete. That’s the meaning of Al-Dawah Al-Tammah.
What is The Meaning Of Al-Salatil Qaaimah?
الصَّلاَةِ القَائِمَةِ – Salat al-Qaaimah: It is the prayer for which the Muezzin has given the call to, whether it is Fajr, Midday, Afternoon, Sunset or Isha.
What is The Meaning Of Al-Waseelah?
الْوَسِيلَةَ – Al-Waseelah: Wasilah it is the highest position that will be given to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in heaven. That is: “O Lord, grant our master Muhammad that high position in heaven,” and this is the rank that only Muhammad ﷺ deserves it, and it is from the hadith of ‘Abdullah bin Amr reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
When you hear the Mu’adhdhin, repeat what he says, then invoke a blessing on me, for everyone who invokes a blessing on me will receive ten blessings from Allah; then beg from Allah al-Wasila for me, which is a rank in Paradise fitting for only one of Allah’s servants, and I hope that I may be that one. If anyone who asks that I be given the Wasila, he will be assured of my intercession.
What is The meaning of Al-Fadheelah?
الْفَضِيلَةَ – Al-Fadheelah: Fadheelah means virtue that is refers to a position that is the highest among creatures. This is a high position in which Muhammad has no partner. This is not an ordinary virtue, but a high and honorable position among the Messengers.
It is the supreme purification that no one shares with Him, this is also not a minor virtue, but it is the status of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ of the highest degree in the highest degree of purity.
What is 'al-Maqam Al-Mahmood'?
مَقَامًا مَّحْمُودَ – Al-Muqaam ul Mahmood: That is Shafa’ah شفاعۃ . It refers to the greatest intercession that was not given to anyone except Muhammad ﷺ. As it is in the hadith that on the Day of Judgment, people will be in pain and suffering. So every nation will go to prophets one by one to intercede for them.
Finally, they come to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and they will ask Him for intercession, and Prophet Muhammad ﷺ will intercede for them. This is the position which is called Maqam Mahmood. Because the all the prophets and all the messengers are all apologetic for intercession.
Narrated Ibn Umar:
On the Day of Resurrection the people will fall on their knees and every nation will follow their prophet and they will say, “O so-and-so! Intercede (for us with Allah), “till (the right) intercession is given to the Prophet (Muhammad ﷺ) and that will be the day when Allah will raise him into a station of praise and glory (i.e. Al-Maqam -al-Mahmud). bukhari:4718
